April 10th: '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' - Edition 39

### Jim's Corner ###

Hi All,

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter that was full of chocolate. If you were one of the unlucky few that didn't quite get what they wanted then I suggest you go take a peak at the Hotel Chocolat Spring sale (See HERE) - they seem to have some tidy bargains that are worth checking out.

I hope you all enjoyed my review (or rant whichever way you look at it!!) of the Galaxy Counters this week. Remember there is still time to enter the competition to win your own pack (FREE of course!!) - you can enter by clicking HERE.

Coming up this week we have another review from the Nestle Wonka range, more Ritter Sport spring varieties, and lastly some reviews on some Cadbury bars from the Southern Hemisphere.

I hope you all had great weeks!

JIM

I was so excited when I saw those new Milka small bars the other day. I had to pay quite a bit for one though (69p!!!!!!).

Nice update Jimbob.

They on adding different thing to the Hotel Chocolat site so it is worth keeping an eye on.
I am intrigued about these Cadbury cafes. Do you think it was the idea of Kraft?

I only just saw your competition. Thank you for doing it. I just sent my entry :-)

I am sensing that the Milka takeover has just begun :D I bet we will start seeing loads more of their flavours start appearing. I hope so anyway.

I love the sound of the 'Cadbury Cocoa Houses', I'm surprised they've never really done it before. I guess they'd be like a modern take on the famous old Lyon's Corner Houses which were pretty much the same idea. I wish i'd been around in the 50's and 60's to go and try them out lol. The article said they were proposing to do it before the Kraft takeover, so looks as if this was a Cadbury idea not Kraft.

I've tried the Milka with Daim bar, it was very tasty, I do like Daim bars though and Milka so it wa a win win! :) I remember Nestle Animal Bars, Cadbury used to one aswell but they rebranded them just as Dairy Milk with really just the funny animal shapes on the wrapper (and bar) which was a shame really.

Those Milka bars are 3 for £1 in my local newsagent. Very addictive they are. I hadn't had D'aim in years but now have started buying it again.

Oh I see the latest news is that chocolate isn't as healthy as they originally said...so confusing! Something about the flavanols being too bitter for consumers so they remove them? Does that mean that 70% dark choc is good or not? Anyone know?

It is so unfair I want to go on a ben and jerry factor tour.

I too like the sounds of the Cadbury cafes. I bet they will be all clad out in purple and white.

Did anyone ever get to try those new Baratts mini eggs over Easter? I remember reading about them in an article that jim posted but I never found them.

I just spent way too much money in the Hotel Chocolat sale lol. I get there are worse things to spend your money on.

The new MMs peanuts photograph looks lush. Nice one.

I got to try those Barratt Mini Eggs Richard, they are very nice indeed, better than expected. The shells aren't too thick, or too sweet, and the chocolate inside tastes very nice and seems good quality! And I'm not normally a fan of mini eggs! lol can't remember where my sister got them but I imagine they will be (or were) about fairly widely.

Has anyone ever tried the Prestat Choxi chocolate? I have once and it was very nice but that is all about having 3 times the amount of flavonols in it while only consuming a couple of squares (60 cals). They must do something to make them more palatable while retaining the effect.

Since when have these smaller Milka bars been about? Great idea. I often fancied some Milka chocolate but chose not to buy it because it is a pain in the arse carrying around a big block of chocolate.

The Cadbury Cafes are going to be amazing. I love the Dairy Milk hot chocolate blocks you can buy in the supermarkets. It would be great being able to buy one of them on my way to work everyday. Especially in the winter.

It is official. The Milka with Daim is now officially my favourite chocolate ever. I tried it for the first time last week and I now just can't get enough of it.

I haven't even see these small bars yet.

EVERYONE

Hi All,

It is good to see so many of you have found the new smaller Milka bars. It is a good decision by Kraft in my opinion! It allows people to enjoy Milka outside the home, which previously wasn't all that practical to do with their 100.0g bars.

Richard - I just found those Barratts eggs this week. I know it is late but I will get a review up soon.

Phil - I find it hilarious how each and every week their are claims about this and that being good for our health. The best way to approach things is just to eat stuff in moderation. Too much of one thing is never good.

Alan - never tried the Prestat chocolate. I guess it is just another to add to the list :D

I hope you all had nice weekends.
JIM
