July 31st: '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' - Edition 50

### Jim's Corner ###

Hi All,

Not much to report this week but I have the pleasure of bringing you the names of the winners of the mid week Ritter Sport competition. The winners were Sally (comment #5), Alan (comment #30) and Phil (comment #42) - please can you guys send me your adresses so I can send on your Ritter winnings.

The good news for the rest of you is that I still have lots of samples left to give away! So look out for more competitions coming very soon.

Now to clear up the matter of Jim's ChocolateMission Shop. You will see on the left hand sidebar of the site I have created an affiliate store on Amazon. I do have plans down the line to enter a far more developed store, but for the minute this very basic store will be helping fund my ChocolateMission. Take a look a look at whats on offer HERE. Keep your eyes peeled for a more developed store opening later this year.

Just as a reminder - keep an eye on the Hotel Chocolat site (SEE HERE) - they are starting to put up their End of Season clearance lines.

Have great weeks guys and girls

That updated Fry's Peppermint picture is cool but it looks alot lighter doesn't it now, it looks like milk choc or was it just the light? the old one looked almost black! lol

3 mars bars in a minute is quite a feat lol.

I didn't realise they changed the Frys wrappers. Nice work.

Yet another competition I don't win then :( One day I will strike lucky.

Thanks for running the competition mate.

Asda are such idiots http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/07/27/asda-in-deadly-chocolate-bar-nut-alert-115875-22443035/

They have mislabelled one of their own label chocolate bars. Thats so dangerous.

Doh I yet again I'm overlooked in a competition :( At least I have actually seen those people post on here before. It would have been really annoying to see someone post for the first time and win a prize.

Nigel said...

Oh well, I didn't win :(

Are you going to be running more competitions soon? Lol you seem to do one a week at the moment. You are being well generous.

What was the answer to the question then????? You never said.

That new frys bar looks a bit light in colour. The last time I had one it was still dark chocolate. That one looks almost like it is made out of milk chocolate now.

I like your shop Jim. I think I'm going to order some Reese's and York peppermint patties. I love both of them.

If you can hear a wimpering sound that would be my bank account lol.
My credit card is about to get a workout thanks to the hotel chocolat sale.

@anonymous judging by all of the replies I think it is safe to say that the answer was 100 grams.

Im going to go on a massive hunt for some Ritter Sport today in London. Surely someone must now somewhere where they stock the full range?

Im gagging to try their Espresso one that Jim did the other week.

Congrats guys. Uber jealous of you.

It was a cool contest for you to run. Very generous of you. Please can you do more I love your site.

Oh well I didn't win but I wasn't expecting to what with the amount of people that entered.

Not even the companies themselves can keep up with your reviewing these days Jim (talking about cadburys). Nice work :)

Umer said...

Jim have you seen the new cakes on the heavenly cakes website. The lemon meringue sounds gorgeous. Will you be trying it anytime?

Phil said...

Yay I was a winner :) Congrats to Alan and Sally. I look forward to it, I do love me some Ritter Sport.

And ooh new Heavenly Cakes? I hope you get to review some Jim.

Alex said...

I knew I wasn't going to win. It was obvious when all those randoms turned up and entered. 78 entries in two days is ridiculous.

Ana said...

The Zotter Golden Cherries of Uzbekistan bar of today sounds even cooler :D

Alan said...

Those new additions to the Heavenly Cakes look delicious - but has anyone noticed the 'Chocolate Mission Selection pack'!! Looks like they listened to everyone wanting a selection to try!

Steven_F said...

Jim in the future can you include some details on what you are going to be reviewing in the next week please. I think that would be a nice addition.

Kevin said...

Dammit only just seen this. Well done to the winners. I hope to win one soon :(

Ana said...

@Alan: I've noticed it as well. :D

New Milkas have just appeared in stores here. :D From the Greets from the Alps limited edition :D (those cows in the pictures are so funny :)) ). Just the milk cream & popping candy and the milk cream & chocolate cookies. Not the cocoa cream & mint, but I don't like mint anyway. I was interested in the chocolate cookies one :)

I'm also planning to try Milka's aerated chocolates (Milk, Noisette, White). Somehow, I've never tried those, even though I've been seeing them them for years.

Phil said...

Oh yeah just noticed the Chocolate Mission selection pack, how cool :) That's the power of the Internet for you.

Emily said...

does it actually say what's in the Chocolate Mission Selection pack? The website doesn't make it clear.

Alan said...

@ Emily i wondered about that too - maybe its just a random selection? It did puzzle me slightly lol

Rosa said...

Thanks for the shout-out, especially since you're an expert on all things Ritter!

Ana said...

As far as I understand, the selection contains the eight items that were reviewed here:
1 - Millionaires Shortbread
2 - Chocolate Flapjack
3 - Toffee Tiffin
4 - Billionaires Cakes
5 - Toffee Crisp
6 - Milk Chocolate Brownie
7 - Lumpy Bumpy Brownie
8 - Rocky Road

Everyone

Well done to all that entered the competition. Especially well done to Sally, Alan and Phil for winning! The bars are in the post for you all.

Answering some of your questions ...

Daisy - Thats a real error by Asda. That could be really dangerous.

Anon - The answer was 100.0g ... no answered incorrectly :D

Martin - It could just be the lighting in the photo. Apologies.

James - Try some of the smaller shops. John Lewis has a fantastic chocolate range.

Eddie - More competition to follow soon matey! Keep your eyes peeled!

Umer - I haven't been asked to review it be Heavenly yet so there are no plans to at the moment.

Phil - I will keep you posted if they are upcoming.

Ana - It does look nice doesn't it! I will have to see if MrZotter wishes to send it along. Hopefully I will get to review those new Milka bars very soon! I have a package inbound from Germany this week I believe! Let me know what you think about te Lufflee ... I have reviews of them somewhere.

Alan - They contacted me about adding that the other day! It is pretty cool isn't it.

re: Chocolate Mission Selection Pack

I was told Heavenly Cakes were going to be adding this last week! I don't actually have anyy details in what is included myself! I believe it includes the 8 products that have been reviewed on the site so take a look in the archives to see which they are!

I will ask the guys if they wish to make a statement on the site about the new addition to their range!

Thanks for the comments! More competitions coming soon.
