In true 'Bits n Bobs' fashion I will be running through each of the three bars below at a rate of knots :D I hope you can keep up! Be sure to share your thoughts on each!
Weetabix Oaty Bars Milk Chocolate

'Milk chocolate flavoured cereal bar, drizzled with milk chocolate'
You may recall me reviewing the white chocolate variant from the Oaty Bars range in my first 'Bits n Bobs' cereal bar round up. On offer here we had pretty much the same proposition, with a golden syrup noted oaty base topped with a fairly unsubstantial sprinkling of milk chocolate. In comparison to the flavourless white chocolate topping on the other variety, the milk chocolate did come through in the taste somewhat better, however it was still a way off providing a satisfying chocolate flavour hit. The size of the bar was again way too small to satisfy even the smallest of tummy rumbles. On the whole better, but still not worth seeking out.

Green & Black's Dark Chocolate Dipped Fruit & Nut Cereal Bar
Kcal 229 Fat 11.8g Fat(sats) 5.2g Carbs 26.7g'Whole almonds with cherries and dried apricot, in a oat based cereal bar, dipped in 70% dark chocolate'
This without doubt is one of the best cereal bars I have ever had. I'm not generally crazy on the things anyway, but this stood out as product really packed full of variable flavours. The most prominent features in the taste were the tart cherries and buttery almonds, which really stood out from the sweet honey noted flavours of the oat base. Additionally the unsweetened cocoa flavours of the chocolate were also very forthcoming, and ensured that a swift chocolate flavour burst was present with each bite. The nutritional values may put some people off as they are hardly within the expectations of the average cereal bar consumer's limits, however I would really recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Green & Black's products. I rate more highly than a lot of their stand alone chocolates.

'Cappuccino and chocolate flavoured rolled oats'
So you saved the best until last right Jim? Err no not quite! This bar caught my eye in my local Holland & Barrett store, and came with the promise of keeping me feeling fuller for longer. Now I can't deny that this bar had the potential to leaving my hunger feel satisfied for longer than the average chocolate or cereal bar, but in order for this to be a reality it would of had to have made me want to eat it. Unfortunately this just wasn't the case! This bar was nothing more than a bland, tasteless slab of rolled oats, with no hint of coffee or chocolate detectable at any point. To put it in to context I had to do the awful thing of checking the back of the wrapper after the first bite to see if it was still in date ... it was by nearly 6 months!! This bar just tasted awful, and I threw most of it in the bin. AVOID!!

So there we have it! Three more whistle stop reviews of some of the cereal bars we have on the UK market. If you have any requests for ones you want to see in part 3, be sure to drop me a note. It would be great to hear from anyone else who has tried one of these bars ... did you think the G&B bar was as good as I did? Is the ADOR bar as bad as I am making out?

Cool I've never seen a Green & Blacks cereal bar. Where did you buy it from?
I totally agree with you about the weetabix bars. I am an avid weetabix eater, I can't start my morning without them lol. I was well disappointed with the cereal bars they came out with though. I thought the white choc ones were going to be wicked but they were so minuscule.
Oatabix are disgusting. My dipsy mum keep buying them instead of the normal ones though. She doesn't bother looking at the packaging when she shops its so annoying.
Dx
You should review the Jacobs Club biscuits if you are doing this sort of thing again. I noticed other day you said you would do a review if people asked - lol you can add me to the list of people that have :)
Have you tried the new hob nob cereal bars yet? I bought a pack of the purple ones last week and they were well nice. I was quite surprised that they had quite a bit of chocolate on each. Give them a go.
What the hell is that mocha bar thing all about. I didn't know you shopped in a healthy store like Holland and Barrat. What were you doing in there looking for chocolate? It seems an odd place to be looking.
How pants do all of these things look compared to the brownie yesterday lol. If you put all three of these infront of me and offered to swap it for one bite of one of those brownies I know what I would go for.
Rxxx
I was wrong about Germany yesterday wasn't I Jimbo. I just read your follow up as well and it appears you were also wrong :P
My favourite cereal bars are the coco pops ones. Have you thought about doing a few chocolate cereal reviews? That would be cool.
Green and Blacks do more cereal bars than just this one. If you ever find anymore please review them. I ate the same one you did and I thought it was excellent. I would totally recommend it.
Thank You
The raisins in that G&B cereal thing look huge. That puts me off it I'm afraid. I don't know what it is about raisins but I hate the way they feel all wrinkly and chewy. I just cant eat them.
I don't bother with cereal bars. I dont see the point of them, why would you want to eat something that is supposed to be for breakfast later in the day.
The best cereal bars you can buy are MARMITE ones. Yep thats right MARMITE => They just started making them and Im totally addicted. I have already eaten a whole pack of them since the weekend.
Sorry to bang on about calories again but that Green Blacks one isn't exaclty low for a cereal bar. You should probably just buy a chocolate bar if you are thinking that something like this is going to be healthier for you. I think a Mars bar has less calories than that does.
I have the odd special K chocolate cereal bar but apart from that I don't bother with them. Most of them are just as bad for you as any chocolate bar. You might as well just have a smaller chocolate thing like a Freddo if you don't want anything that big.
@Daisy lol I kept making that mistake for awhile. I didn't realise once until I started eating them, I thought they had gone off or something.
I'm not the biggest cereal bar eater either, it's only if the Alpen ones are on offer I sometimes pick them up. I've never had the weetabix one, or seen the G&B or ever seen or heard the 3rd one lol. None of then appeal to me particularly.
The 3rd one sounds a strange combination to be honest, I think I'd prefer it as it is rather than with coffee and chocolate flavour thats meant to be added. Didn't it just taste like a flapjack?
Theres no need to rattle your cage about prices today Jim. We can hardly miss the price of the oastbix one can we lol. I hate price marked packs, they always looked so cheap and chavy.
The Green & Blacks one looks nice. I can imagine how bad the Weetabix one is since I also tried one of the white choc ones. You wouldn't expect the mocha one to be so bad considering the packaging looks a little posh, but the bar itself looks as you describe.
I would also recommend the mvities hobnob/digestive medley bars for part 3.
I really dislike cereal bars.
Like laods of other people have mentioned I don't usually bother with cereal bars. That Green & Blacks one has me suitabely intrigued though, it looks pretty fancy compared to other two you wrote about.
The GB one does look nice granted but I would never bother with either of the others.
I went through a cereal bar phase but I know prefer nutrigrains. You should try review the chocolate nutrigrain I think you will like it.
David
I bought it from Sainsburys I think. They definitely do multipacks of them - I'm not sure about single bars though.
Steven
Cereal bars are normally smallish but those Oatabix bars take things to new levels.
Daisy
Haha you should have a word. I'm a weetabix only man myself. I normally just go for the bran flakes in the morning though.
Golden
After everyone requested I review them the other day I went out and bought some. Review coming soon ... I hope your excited.
Tom
You are talking about the McVitie's Medley bars right!? I have reviews coming in very soon - I hope you add your comments to those reviews.
Ryan
I do shop there from time-to-time. To be honest it was just something they had sat by the till so I picked one up. I don't usually go in there shopping for chocolate.
Rachel
They are a bit tepid compared to Heavenly Cakes aren't they. If you look at the nutritional values though I know which would be better for you eating on a daily basis haha.
Nigel
Indeed you were incorrect. You should take some betting tips from the German Octupus! Have you seen it? It gets all the results right!!
I have thought about doing a similar super post for just chocolate cereals. I will think about doing it a bit more if people want to see it.
Alison
I will keep my eyes peeled. They aren't some I see all that often though. If I see them I will buy them.

Raisins are funny - people either love them or hate them. Personally I really like, I prefer dried fruit to normal fruit.
Nick
I think they are nice to have as a snack every now and again. I don't generally eat them that often though.
Tony
Funnily enough I have tried them :D They are a bit unusual at first but I quite like them.
Mark
That is a really good point. It is always worth looking at that sort of thing when buying these 'healthy options'. Some of the Eat Natural bars are hilariously high in sugar and calories for bars that are supposed to be natural.
Katie
I agree if I was watching what I ate I would prefer to have 'less of a nice thing' rather than 'lots of a less nice thing'.
Alan
The Alpen ones are quite nice arent they.
The 3rd one was a bit odd ... it didn't have the golden syrup/butter flavours you get from a flapjack. It was just bland and pretty flavourless to be honest. I wouldn't recommend it.
Phil
Don't worry chap the Medley bars are on my radar - I have already written on of the reviews.
I think you might enjoy the G&B ones - give them a try sometime and let me know what you think.
Richard
They do often look really gareish don't they. I never like to see prices marked on any packaging.
Anon #2
Sorry :D I can't please everyone.
Paul
The G&B one does look a cut aboe the other two I agree. Give them a try if you get the chance.
Chris
If you look at the scores I would say that was a fair assesment to make.
Lauren
I have tried the chocolate flavoured Nutrigrain and I really didn't like it. See below.

Thanks everyone - it was nice getting a review like this out there. It has been a while since I last did a superpost.
JIM
There is one good thing about price marked packs - the fact that shops can't charge more for them than the manufacturer recommends!
They try lol but as with those price promotion bars that Cadburys and Nestle brought out a while ago shops would have just stuck a normal price on them and we wouldnt be any the wiser lol. In the past (until around the 1980's it seems)nearly all wrappers had the price incorporated into the wrapper design regularly to prevent unfair pricing by shops.
