As always I encourage you all to share your opinions on these products if you have tried them, or have any views. Additionally if you would like to see any other products featured in 'Bits n Bobs' in the future please let me know.
Kellogg's Special K Mini Breaks Chocolate:
Kcal 99 Fat 2.5g Fat(sats) 1.0g Carbs 18.0g (per 24.0g)'Chocolate flavoured crunchy multi-grain cereal bites'
I would like to claim that I purposely bought these to review in an attempt to counter balance all the Heavenly Cakes and biscuits you have seen featured on the site recently :D Truth be told for some reason my work office received a massive industrial sized box in which there were forty 24.0g individual serving bags. I'm not normally someone who buys in to all these Special K zero calorie products, but seeing the word chocolate on the wrapper I felt almost obliged to review them. To my pleasant surprise they were better than I thought they would be - far superior to the bland cardboard like experience I was expecting anyway. Taste wise they established a honey noted oaty set of flavours. The chocolate flavour hit was minor at best, but every once and while there was a note of cocoa powder amongst the cereal led taste. These weren't anything amazing, but as a lower calorie snacking alternative they weren't half bad.

Fox's Chunkie Caramel Extremely Chocolatey Cookies:
Kcal 127 Fat 6.4g Fat(sats) 3.5g Carbs 9.2g (per biscuit)'Chocolate chip cookies with caramel pieces, coated in milk chocolate'
Right ... on to the more serious of biscuits :D I bought these in my local Tesco priced on introductory offer of £1.00. Just over a month ago, ChocolateMission reader Phil brought my attention to the Fox's Chunkie Cookie range when he asked me to review the Fruit & Nut variant (See HERE). Having enjoyed them, I was very tempted by these Caramel cookies when I saw them - the packaging especially caught my eye with it's vivid yellow colours and flashy 'NEW' branding decorating the top corner. Opening opening the packet, the cookies looked and smelt terrific with various sweet caramel scents wafting over my senses. When it came to the taste test, I am pleased to say they passed with flying colours, with seals of approval from all that tried them. The quality of the milk chocolate wasn't anything amazing, but it did the job establishing a chocolatey flavour base with every bite. The most enjoyable aspect about these biscuits however were the several bits of caramel that were plentifully portioned throughout the buttery tasting cookie base. These provided intermittent blasts of delicious toffee, aswell as an interesting chewyness to the crunchy cookie texture. I would happily recommend these to any cookie or biscuits fans.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscuits:

Kcal 75 Fat 4.3g Fat(sats) 2.5g Carbs 50.3g (per biscuit)'Shortcake biscuits fulled covered in milk chocolate'
After the release of the Cadbury Crunchie, Caramel and Turkish biscuits earlier this year (See HERE), it was only a matter of time before I thought we would see a plain Dairy Milk biscuit product hit the shelves. Just as with the above Fox's cookies, I found these on sale in Tesco on a similar £1.00 introductory offer - it was hardly like I was going to miss them what with the iconic purple foil wrapper that was glinting at me from the shelves. From the very first moment I opened the foil wrapper I felt instantly at ease. The Cadbury scents were instantly recognisable, and of course ever so tempting. Aesthetically the biscuits looked attractive, with the outer chocolate coating appearing thick and appetising. There was of course only one way to eat these - letting the delicious, thick creamy chocolate melt away in the mouth before munching down on the biscuit - yep they were a delight! As much as I enjoyed these plain Dairy Milk biscuits, I think when it comes to Cadbury biscuits, I will in the future still be buying the Crunchie or Caramel variants in preference as they offer a little bit more variety to the party.

Love the reviews Jim but I think it's a bit late for you to get on the Special K diet lol.
I think eating Heavenly Cakes on weekly basis is going to counter balance any good you do eating that stuff lol.
Those Dairy Milk biccies look so nice I will definitely be looking to try them v soon.
I hate to be one of those annoying people but if anyone does seem them in a particular supermarket can you let me know. I dont shop in Tesco very often so that isnt much use to me :(
Rxxx
Since when has special k been so nice? I hate the cereal they make.
The caramel cookies look like the best thing you have written about today. Great reviews this week, I was scared we were going to miss out on bits and bobs for a while.
I know this wont interest you at all Jimbo but I saw they had started making Bournville biscuits aswell. If you fancy giving them a go I for one would like to see you review them.
I will take the score with a pinch of salt lol I just want to see what the pics look like to be honest.
The Dairy milk biscuits look tops.
I keep seeing the turkish ones on sale in my local spar for like 50p a pack. I would buy them but they are so cheap because the best before dates are really short :(
The best cadbury biscuits are the caramel ones imo.
Bits and Bobs always brings a smile to my face :-)
I have never tried any of these but I would be interested in trying the special k biscuits just because they are kind on the calorie side of things.
Lol the caramel cookies do look delicious though. I wouldn't turn down the cadbury biscuits either.
I will have to be trying those cadburys biscuits now they look delish!!!!!
I have seen that Cadbury are doing these big tins of biscuits for Christmas this year. I think my mum has already bought one but she hasn't shared it with us yet. I think shes keeping it back for when December comes booooo!
Nice reviews jim I hadn't ever seen the caramel chunky cookies before.
Isn't it mental how everything gets sold for a quid nowadays. Lol its funny, unless these things are on offer I bet people never buy them anymore. In every review you write you always talk about how you have bought them on some kind of deal. You must be a good bargain hunter ;)
Thank you for reviewing the Special K mini breaks. They are something I have seen advertised but never tried.
Ithink for the first time ever I have seen something on your site that I wouldnt feel guilty about eating. 99 calories sounds fair for what you get.
Lol I wish all these snacks that you featured had that amount of calories in them. Wishful thinking I know.
If I could just try one of these today it would have to be the Dairy Milk biscuits. There is something special about Dairy milk that I have never been able to put my finger on. I just love it.
We haven't tried these plain ones yet but our favourite cadbury biscuits are the caramels.
The crunchie ones come a close second but we didnt like the turkish ones at all.
Great photos again today. You always make everything look so tasty. It makes me hungry :)
Cool reviews mate I always enjoy your mini ones when you do them.
My folks are set in their ways when it comes to things like this. They always just buy boring digestives of rich teas. I might have to make some adaptations to the shopping list this week to get some of the chocolate dairy milks on there. They looks awesome.
The top two dont interest me but I would happily give those cadburys biscuits a try.
Im sure the other two are just as cool, Im just not much of a biscuit person.
I had some of the fruit and nut foxs cookies after I saw your review the other day. I thought they were ok but they werent loads better than anything you can buy supermarket branded.
The caramel variety you show here could be a little more to my taste though. I will try them as well if I see them.
i wasnt impressed with the fox's caramel ones, i thought they were gonna have melted caramel in them, so was very dissappointed, so they werent really my thing, i so enjoy the special k breaks but i prefer the other flavours of them and the cadburys ones do look LUSH <3, but i still fink ill prefer the caramel or crunchie 1's =)
Anything special k is disgusting. All the stuff they make is low in fat and stuff for a reason.
It all tastes the same and it isn't nice.
Im going to make my own cookies this weekened that will beat all of these put together :)
The dairy milk biscuits look like they have chocolate biscuit inside not shortbread like they say on the wrapper.
Mini reviews FTW!!!
The special K things aren't inspiring me much but the other two sound well nice.
Jim have you seen all of the Cadbury Christmas cakes that have come out? I had these amazing flake cakes the other day. They were soooo nice you have to give them a try.
Wheres my viscount review jim? Lol only joking.
I love anything cadburys so Im sure I will be trying these biscuits soon enough.
Sorry for the random question but are you going to be reviewing the thorntons cookies? They only recently got brought out and I want to know if they are any good.
I wish you were my friend, you seem to share a lot of the stuff you buy these days.
I still maintain the view that most of these long lasting shelf cookies are rubbish but I would be interested in the caramel ones if I happened to see them.
I really wish they would start bringing out more cookies from the US. I hate to say it but they are the kings when it comes to making cookies. Chips ahoy are my faves.
Lmao @David I was thinking exactly the same about Jims Special K diet. I think its too late in the day for you to be shedding the pounds on that one Jim.
Your body wont be used to eating such nutritional uselessness.
I hate foods like that. Most the time the biggest ingrdient is just air. Take rice cakes as an example.
I have some new suggestions if you are looking for some?
Wagon wheels? Penguin biscuits? Tracker bars? I want to see more reviews on stuff we can buy easily in the shops we have here. I like it when you write about things like zotter and stuff but it can get annoying sometimes when I know I will never be trying them to form my own judgement.
Woop woop I know I always say this but bits and bobs are the best :)
I really like the look of all these things today. I think the special k would be perfect for a little nibble and the other two would be brill for a treat every now and then.
By far my fave biscuits are choccie hob nobs though. You just cant beat them.
@ANONYMOUS no way special k is really nice. Have you tried the chocolate mint cereal they make. Honestly its just as good as any other.
Jim I saw they have started making chocolate sugar puffs. Do you like the sound of them?
It's great to see you continue on with the biscuit posts Jim :-) As a biscuit fanatic I very much approve of this lol.
It would be awesome to see some reviews of some more traditional biscuits if you can (bourbon cremes etc). The branded ones are cool but lets be honest we all love the classics more :)
@ rosa: they do special k mint cereal? i knew they did cereal bars but not cereal =/
Well te Special K ones dont interst me but the other two do! Those Fox's chunky cookies are very nice, I think its an unfair generalisation to say that all out shop bought cookies are horrible as people seem to be saying. I'm sure in America they also have a fair share of dodgy cookie brands etc lol
Those Cadbury ones are the ones you get in the Cadbury Tins at Christmas! Although I think the centre biscuit looks abit darker in these. You only get two in the tins lol
@Tom, I always like Cadbury biscuits in the tins, they always seems abit more special than some of the others. Theyve been doing them for years and years :)
Yay another BnB!!! Great reviews Jim. I have to agree about the chocolate Special K Mini Bites. They are nice for what they are but nothing special. The Lemon Zest flavour is the nicest and very moreish which perhaps defeats the point in them being low cal :D
The Foxes cookie looks and sounds great. A packet may just accidently fall into my trolley during my next shopping trip. Finally, the Dairy Milk biscuits look amazing, love the packaging and the design of the individual boscuits. What I love about the DM brand is that you know you're never going to be disappointed and these may also just randomly tumble into the trolley tomorrow. What?!?! I'll need to find a biscuit that's up there with the chocolate Oreos as they could vamish at any time! (haha, any excuse!) Enjoy your weekend :D
Why did they make boring dairy milk biscuits? Why didn't they make wispa or boost ones?
I can only imagine how amazing boost biscuits would be. I would buy them in a flash.
Wow, the caramel chunkies and the Dairy Milk biscuits look delicious :) I'll have to keep an eye out for the chunkies as it was news to me that they'd brought them out. As for the DM biscuits, at least we know it's gonna be real Dairy Milk. I don't like how they use inferior chocolate in some of their products. I'll not comment on the special K bites as I can't stand those sort of products lol.
Hi Jim -I always love the Bits N Bobs reviews :). The Fox's Caramel Cookies look yummy - I'll be adding those to my shopping basket tomorrow! Have a good w/e! x

I have a request for you ..... stop reviewing such amazing treats you are making this friday afternoon drag all the more with your words of temptation =) =)
Dx
Hi All,
Thanks again for all the contributions today. My iphone wasn't as knackered as I thought so I was able to let your comments get posted up as and when they came in, unlike I said yesterday evening.
Replies will be short tonight as I have a ton of these things to do before I head out for the evening. Apologies.
David / Golden / Alicia / Lucy - Re: Special K
I have a very good diet I will let you know :D When you are aware you are eating chocolate at some point everyday you tend to watch what you eat the rest of the time ;) As someone has also said today aswell, I do share a heck of a lot of the stuff I get sent.
Golden - I never said it was nice ... just ok for what it was :D
Rachel - Re: Where to buy DM biscuits
I have only seen them in Tesco so far I'm afraid. I will take a look in some other retailers this weekend though.
Ju - Re: Bournville Biscuits
Haha probably best I leave them alone. Who knows I could be tempted if they are on the right deal.
Kim / Ian / Selina - Re: Feedback on BnB post format
Thanks you guys I appreciate the feedback on the website. I will continue to do them as long as everyone is happy seeing them.
Tom / Alan - Re: Cadbury Tins
I like the look of some of them this year aswell. Who knows one might pop up for a cheeky review at some point.
Emma - Re:'You must be a good bargain hunter ;)'
Aren't we all nowadays? I do most my shopping my just taking the trolley down the end of the aisles to see the mega deals.
John - Re:'I had some of the fruit and nut foxs cookies after I saw your review the other day. I thought they were ok but they werent loads better than anything you can buy supermarket branded.'
Phew. it's always good to hear a recommendation go down well. I do worry about that sometimes. I hope you like the caramel ones equally as much if you try them.
Emma / Kels / Tom - Re: Order of preference for Cadbury Biscuits
There is a lot of agreement going on today regarding which of all the flavours is the nicest. Like the majority of you I would rather buy the Crunchie or the Caramel version over the plain Dairy Milks (though they are still very nice!). The Turkish biscuits are the runt of the litter by the looks of all the comments.
Lauren - Re:'The dairy milk biscuits look like they have chocolate biscuit inside not shortbread like they say on the wrapper.'
It was a kind of chocolatey shortbread. Haha it was nice whatever it was.
Harry - Re:'Jim have you seen all of the Cadbury Christmas cakes that have come out?'
One step ahead of you chap ... the review is already written and due up on the site soon :D
Stu - Re:Wheres my viscount review jim?
It's coming, it's coming! I'm getting a load of requests at the minute, please bear with me :D
Peter - Re:'I really wish they would start bringing out more cookies from the US. I hate to say it but they are the kings when it comes to making cookies. Chips ahoy are my faves.'
I agree it would be nice to see more chips ahoy etc, but I think you aren't giving us enough credit for our own biscuits. If we just had the american cookies I think you would miss loads of the British biscuits we have.
Christine - Re: Suggestions
Thanks for these but I have actually reviewed a number of the products you mention already. If you use the site search bar on the right sidebar you should be able to find a lot of them in the archives! I hope that helps.
Rosa - Re: Jim I saw they have started making chocolate sugar puffs. Do you like the sound of them?
I'm not much of a fan of Sugar Puffs I'm afraid. I prefer cereals with fruits and nuts in myself.
Andy - Re: It would be awesome to see some reviews of some more traditional biscuits if you can (bourbon cremes etc). The branded ones are cool but lets be honest we all love the classics more :)
Agreed. A classic biscuit selection bits and bobs sounds like it could be in order here.
Emma - Re: @ rosa: they do special k mint cereal? i knew they did cereal bars but not cereal =/
I think you could be right. I've not ever seen it either. The best Special K cereal I think is the Yoghurt one.
Alan - Re: Your Comment
Agreed there have got to be just as many 'dodgy' american cookies as there are horrible British biscuits. The grass isn't always greener is it :D
I think a tin of Cadbury biscuits might be on the shopping list this weekend. Im basing that on an Alan recommendation :D
Ria - Re: Your Comment
You are a joy to hear from as normal, thanks so much for your kind words.
It sounds dangerously like two packets of biscuits might fall in the trolley this weekend eh :D Tell me what you think of them both if they do. I don't think you are going to be disappointed by either.
Neil - Re: Wispa or Boost biscuits
I think you are being a it harsh on the DM biscuits but you do have some good ideas there. I wouldn't mind seeing either of those two appear one day. They would be interesting.
Phil - Re: Your Comment
You got a special CM mention today did you see that!? I would value your opinion on the Caramel Chunky Cookies as and when you try them. You were the person who introduced me to the range after all.
Roxy - Re: The Fox's Caramel Cookies look yummy - I'll be adding those to my shopping basket tomorrow! Have a good w/e!
Thank you - have a good one yourself!
Daisy - Re:'I have a request for you ..... stop reviewing such amazing treats'
Sorry :D request declined I'm afraid. The site wouldn't work without the snacks.
Phew ... another week of chocolate reviews!!!
I have an extra special post lined up for you guys tomorrow. I really hope you enjoy it as it took quite a bit of effort to put together. Thanks for all the requests and nice words. Have good weekends.
JIM
lol abt the 40 special K bags. I'm especially tempted by the Dairy Milk biscuits. I'm staying away from Fox's for a while, I bought some of their chocolate topped 'shortcake rounds' on the recommendation of a gentleman in the supermarket, and they turned out to be bland/unsalted (although my roommates gobbled the rest down!)
Re the US/UK debate, I'm American and love chocolate chips but I actually usually prefer British type biscuits, 'Nice' or the creams I grew up with, for instance. 'Lu' though is the most awesome among chocolate topped ones, I think they are French.
