March 26/27th: '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' - Edition 68

### SITE UPDATE ###

Hi All,

I hope you enjoyed the reviews this week - if you missed them be sure to check them out:

Hotel Chocolat 'A Dozen Quail Eggs' - See HERE
'Bits n Bobs' Japanese Superpost 2011 # 3 - See HERE
Booja-Booja Organic Truffles - See HERE

The number of parcels arriving bearing Easter chocolates has been really quite impressive over the last few weeks :D A part of me wishes they would stop, but hey ... a guy can never have to much chocolate to give away! Expect to be seeing all the best from Hotel Chocolat, Thorntons, Cadbury, Artisan du Chocolat and Cadbury this year!

It's going to be a busy few weeks, so I will keep this simple today and just point you in the direction of the News Page for your ongoing chocolate news. Also I've included a timely reminder of the Kit Kat competition that is currently being run! Remember to check it out and enter HERE.

Have a great weekend.

JIM

NEWS FROM THE CHOCOLATE MARKET ..... click the banner below for the news page

SNACK OF THE WEEK ..... a new part of '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' which will feature any manner of snacking product I have been products munching on in the week ...
Kcal 87 Fat 4.2g Fat(sats) 2.4g Carbs 11.2g (per biscuit)

These NEW Burton's Choccie Dodgers Double Chocolate have been doing the rounds in the office this week and have been my tea time biscuit of choice. Described as 'chocolate flavour cream sandwiched at the heart of two chocolate flavour shortcake biscuits', they reminded me of Bourbon Creams with their slightly synthetic chocolatey taste. That may sound like a damning statement, but they weren't offensive in any manner and I still on the whole found them a decent enough biscuit to go alongside a mid-afternoon brew. As far as biscuits go they are a nice variation on an all time favourite, but I wouldn't go out your way to hunt them down.

7.0 out of 10

*** COMPETITION REMINDER ***

Make sure you dont miss out on the Japanese Kit Kat competition I started last weekend. Full details can be seen HERE.

Thanks for the reviews mate. I thought they were all top notch this week.

If you can do some more Booja ones soon that would be great.

How are you keeping the news page up to date? It must be a right pain having to search through all the websites each day.

I was just thinking if you hadn't done it already you might want to set yourself up an RSS feed that searches the usual sites you look at for the word 'chocolate'. That would be the best way to get all the news with the littlest fuss. I use Google to do this for loads of things.

Snack of the week is a good idea. Is is it going to include savoury snack or do you not eat them much?

I would love to see you review a broader load of things. You have the talent have a good writer love.

Thanks for the notice on the chocolate dodgers. I was aware they had made toffee ones but I didn't see the chocolate ones when I was last in the supermarket.

I will have to try them :) There is no better biscuit than the JD.

LOL this is freaky! I bought some of those biscuits as well earlier in the week. TBH I didn't like them that much but my bro has already scoffed most of them. Thank you so much for your excellent reviews. Have a lovely weekend.

@Nigel I don't mind who wins out of england or wales today. My mums side of the family is welsh and my dads side is english so im 50/50. Its a win win situation.

This blog is wicked. I have never seen so many reviews of chocolate bars. Mental.

Dammit I knew I shouldn't have shown my friends this site :( They have all entered your comp now. My chances of winning have just taken another blow grrrr

Man those cheese kit kats have to be the craziest thing I have ever seen. Im not surprised they have stopped making them lol. I cant possibly imagine them being a popular flavour.

My snack of the week are cheese jumbo snack a jacks. I have been eating them in the effort to eat something healthier than crisps but I just ended up eating twice as many of them. Ooops.

Sorry to keep asking but have you sorted out your hotel chocolate competition yet for easter? Please say your doing one. My mum is refusing to buy me one because she says they are too expensive. Doh.

I don't like the sound of the choccie dodgers, although I hear they're doing toffee dodgers now - I'd certainly give those a try. Have you tried the new Fox's Ambers Jim?

Also, have you considered reviewing icecream bars? I ask because I tried the limoncello Magnum this week, was really nice. Thorntons have just brought out a new range of icecream sticks too...it never ceases to amaze me how much they're expanding into supermarket goods, lol.

Anyway thanks for the reviews this week Jim and have a great weekend. It looks like spring is finally here.

Excellent reviews Jimbo. I hope we get some more hotel chocolat next week. You did promise it to us anyways :)

The chocolate jammy dodgers have got me thinking. What ever happened to BN biscuits? Anyone remember them?

I wish you would post a review at the weekends. I get ever so bored without one, it feels like ages waiting for Monday.

DAVID - Yep I use RSS feeds for most of the websites. If I ever miss anything please send on the details.

RACHEL - Snack of the week will literally be whatever I happen to be eating that week ... it could be anything.

NIGEL - Turns out we needed more than luck in the cricket chap :D Try a minor miracle haha

RICHARD - Thanks for the story I will add it to the page.

MATT - I'm on the case chap. I will see what HC say about it.

PHIL - I have some of the new Ambers sat on my kitchen worktop but I haven't eaten/photographed them yet. I have products coming out my ears at the moment. Expect them to be a snack of the week sometime soon. As for ice cream I think I am having difficulty with just chocolate bars/biscuits at the moment. It is certainly something I could do closer to summer though. Thats if people want to see it!???

JUSTIN/GANESH - I hope you guys have checked out the site today :D

Sorry I was so replying guys. Very busy weekend I'm afraid.
