April 30th: '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' - Edition 71 - Cap'n Crunch's Peanut Butter Crunch

SITE UPDATE

Hi All,

Having bagged myself a nice five days off work I'm taking advantage of this and heading away for the weekend. Because of this I'm actually writing this before the ROYAL WEDDING has commenced! I hope all my UK readers had a great time joining in the fun yesterday (I say this trusting everything has gone smoothly etc haha!!), and I hope you all managed to tuck in to some cheesey British themed chocolate like the Marks & Spencer lolly I tucked in to earlier this week (See below!)
Apologies for the issues on the comments feature on the website - to be honest I have no idea what is going on but rest assured this is a 'Blogger.com' issue and not your own computer.

As I said I'm away for the long weekend we have here in the UK so posting will get back to normal on Tuesday. I've got posts for American, Japanese and of course British chocolates coming up this week so please be sure to keep an eye on the site.

Remember to check my Twitter feed for this weeks competition (I'm giving away a Snickers Peanut Butter Squared this week!!).

Thanks and have a great weekend

JIM

SNACK OF THE WEEK ..... a new part of '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' which will feature any manner of snacking product I have been products munching on in the week

This weeks SNACK OF THE WEEK comes courtesy of my pals at www.AmericanSoda.co.uk These guys import all manner of American sodas, candy, chocolate and groceries. They come with a ChocolateMission seal of approval - their service is genuinely fantastic and their prices highly competitive. See their website HERE!!Kcal 110 Fat 2.5g Fat(sats) 1.0g Carbs 21.0g (per 27.0g)

I think we all know that I'm a bit of a Peanut Butter Nutter :D so it was with great delight that I recieved this Cap'n Crunch's Peanut Butter Crunch cereal from my friends at AmericanSoda. Normally for breakfast I never stray away from Kellogg's Bran Flakes - no they aren't the best tasting cereal ever, but they do the job of filling me up and giving me the energy for the day ahead. This week I have replaced my usual Bran Flakes with these Cap'n Crunch, and I've subsequently been left with mixed feelings. On the one hand the peanut butter sweetness of the corn & oat cereal was of course more exciting taste wise and I did like how the cereal created a lovely peanut butter flavoured milk in the bowl (YUM!!). However, on the flip side, I didn't find this cereal half as satisfying as my usual Bran Flakes and I did find myself feeling hungry again within the matter of a few hours. The solution to all this!??? Well next week my normal bowl of Bran Flakes will be getting treated to a handful of Cap'n Crunch! Flavour and satisfaction in one cereal bowl - Terrific :D

I love the British lolly that made me chuckle. There were so many cheapo British products do the rounds in the last couple of days weren't there. Lol anyone who's anyone was trying to get their quids in on the wedding :) Thanks for the post Jim. Have a gd weekend.

The wedding was so so beautiful.
I wish we had got to see their chocolate cake though. There's no use going to a wedding if you don't get to see the dress and the cake.

Yay comments are back working. I missed out on ranting about the uae chocolates. Boy I feel sorry for those people that have to put up with them every day.

I don't fancy that peanut butter cereal much. I can imagine its very sickly for the morning times.

Cap'n crunch has nothing on Lucky Charms. Have you ever had them Jim? They are like sugar in cereal form :) Lol give them a go!

Hey J

I just been looking at the footie fixtures and have the following predictions

Arsenal 2 Man U 0 - I think now the pressure is off arsenal will typically win lol.

Newcastle 2 Liverpool 2 - hopefully will be a high scoring game cause both have nothing to lose.

Im loving your flag lolly btw. Its so funny how those sort of things suddenly swarmed all over the place the last week. I wonder what they do with the leftovers??

Cheers
N

Have a lovely weekend J. I just Retweeted you on twitter so make sure you put me in the draw :)

I feel so hungover from yesterday that peanut butter cereal would be the perfect tonic.

Sugar + carbs are the best remedy for my hangovers. I know most people say grease but that makes me feel worse.

Isn't there some special hangover chocolate you can buy in sainsburys?

Oi Mister.

Stop running all your competitions on Twitter. I can't eneter them cause I don't do any of that facebook/twitter rubbish.

Run some competition on the site. It's been ages since your last one.

Have a lovely few days off Jim. These royal family people are so great giving us all this time off lol. I love em.

What is the prize for your Twitter competition? I can't see it mentioned on your feed.

How much are american soda charging for postage and all that? That is where all these companies make a killing. Normally all their prices are reasonable but then they sting you with the uber expensive postage costs like £5 or something.

Woop woop woop so glad comments are back working. I would love to try that cereal there. I've recently been eating cinnamon grahams, I'm so glad they brought they back they were my favourite cereal as a nipper.

I've had a look for some chocolate news but it looks like all those product websites have taken the week off lol. They haven't updated themselves for ages now.

There could always be the thing that there isn't any news to report. I doubt that though, there is always someone out there with a new product or something.

Are you posting the second part of the uae chocolates next week? I'm well interested to see what you make of their dairy milk.

Hey Jim, hope you had a good easter!

Did you know Cadbury have brought out some new Bliss bars? I saw them in Morrisons alongside the larger chocolate bars. They basically have a truffle filling. I tried a caramel one, it was really really tasty. Hope to see a review soon!

As for the Royal wedding...well let's just say I wasn't impressed.

Oh yum ive tried the normal cap 'n' crunch but i wasnt really a big fan of it, it just reminded me of Golden Nuggets, I'd like to try the peanut butter one though, think that owuld be a bit different :)

Alan said...

Its strange but I actually never came across any royal wedding chocolates lol. As for the wedding itself I thought it was beautiful :)

@Phil - i never knew that about the Bliss bars - I was hoping they would extend the range further, sounds like they have :) I hope Sainsburys get them in, I rarely shop in Morrisons.

Hi All,

I hope you are still enjoying the long weekend - it's crazy will still have one day :D

ANON - Indeed I have had Lucky Charms. I could only eat that stuff in very small quantities. Like you say, it's horrendously sugary.

NIGEL - You weren't wrong about Arsenal beating you United. I was very disappointed with the result as you would expect.

JK - Nope not tried that one I'm afraid. I'm not one for buying those Special K cereals myself.

ANON - The prize is a Snickers Peanut butter Squared.

RODDY - I've seen them but never tried them. Would you say they were beet?

KP - Yep the second part will be posted next week.

PHIL - No I haven't seen those Cadbury bars yet. I don't have a Morrisons anywhere near me I'm afraid.

ALAN - How did you miss out on the Royal Wedding Mechandise? You must have been so very disappointed haha.

Thanks everyone - see you soon chaps/chapesses. Posting resumes Tuesday remember.

I'd definitely say they're worth a shot for your PB fix. I'd put them ahead of the Captain.
