It should be a hot one this weekend so I'm going to keep this update short and sweet so we can all go play in the sun :D

The Cadbury Flake Allure certainly attracted a lot of feedback and thoughts from you all :D If you haven't had your say be sure to stop by the review and leave your thoughts.

SNACK OF THE WEEK ..... a new part of '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' which will feature any manner of snacking product I have been products munching on in the week
Get this date in the diaries! The 19th of June is Father's Day here in the UK and Hotel Chocolat have ensured I'm ready to arm all you loving and caring Sons and daughters with the finest chocolates available :D Indeed Hotel Chocolat thought it only right to send me a sample of their mini-selection box for Fathers Day this year - the Hotel Chocolat 'For My Daddy' collection. This small selection of eight chocolates is one of many Fathers Day offerings from Hotel Chocolat this year - I wont give you a full run down of what they have, but you can of course view everything they have to offer for 2011 by Clicking HERE.As I mentioned I was given one of these 'For My Daddy' selections, which I of course had to sample myself in order to make sure it was fit for purpose for my old man :D :D The mini-selection included four different chocolates that you will recognise from previous reviews - Crispy Praline (Standard - See HERE), Orange Praline (Very Good - See HERE), Billionaire Shortbread (Superb - See HERE) and Mousse au Chocolat (Standard - See HERE). From my own perspective I thought this mixture could probably have opitmised by subsituting one of the pralines for an alcohol filled option such as the Whiskey Hot Shots, but that small build aside I thought it was a nicely presented little package that I believe will go down well with many an appreciative Father. I just wish my own old man didn't do my Hotel Chocolat photography for me - if anything he just thinks its 'run of the mill' these days :D I'm sure 99.9% of the population wont be having this problem :D Recommended!

It is really hot isn't it Jim :) some might say that it is so hot you should pack in chocolate reviewing for the minute and focus on something like ... hmmm ... I dunno ... ice cream maybe? :P lol
Im not convinced by the hotel chocolate mix you have there. I think having two pralines in there to begin with is pretty silly. I would of like to have seen a bit more variety. There must be something better they have.

I love the sound of that billionaire chocolate they make. The caramel and biscuit all in one sounds amazing to me.
The For my daddy thing is cute but I don't think my dad would like those chocolates.

Thanks for the review but its still a good two weeks until I will be worrying about fathers day.
If I bought him some chocolates now I think I would probably end up eating them mysel lol. Im bad like that, especially when they are hotel chocolat.

Amazing reviews this week J. I love the snack of the week features as much as any normal review lol. The chocs in the pictures don't look that manly though I don't think.

Thats one heck of a random mixture from HC there. Do you think its a possibility that they could just be some chocolates they have stuck together because they aren't that popular i.e. a way of getting rid of stock?
Chocolate orange? Chocolate Mousse? I wouldn't say those are the most 'daddy' like flavours they could have picked.
I think the whiskey ones would have been a good call. My so called 'old man' lol would appreciate them more than the first two.
Why isn't there any chocolate news at the moment? It must be because its summer or something. I guess its natraul that the market slows down news wise with the weather being hot. Its not exactly chocolate season is it.
Well done for writing that fantastic review on the new flake Jim. I think it gave a really accurate account of what was going on.
Whats all this about ice cream reviews? Are you doing some?
If you are please do the new cadbury mini tubs. I think there are caramel, crunchie and wispa ones if im correct. Any Ben & Jerrys is also welcome.
ps. if you wont do ice cream then you should at least do milkshakes. its not like you haven't reviewed drinks before.
I don't think my dad would be all that keen on it either. I know for one that he wouldn't like the orange praline and the mousse au chocolat wouldn't be one he would go for either. Hmmmm that could have been better.
Snack of the week should be something non-chocolate related I think.
I want to see if you are as good writing about other things as you are choc. Just a thought, thanks for the extra HC review anyways m8.
I bought an allure bar to try yesterday from town but by the time I had got home it was all melted. I still ate it but I will reserve judgement until I get a proper one I think.
