Hi All,
It's been another good week on ChocolateMission with a lot of feedback attracted on all the reviews. If you have missed out on any of the reviews please let me point you in the direction of them here:
June 27th: Hotel Chocolat Tiramisu
June 29th: Lucky's Honey Time - New Flavours
July 1st: Zotter Peanuts & Ketchup
In terms of what's coming up this week we have the obligatory Hotel Chocolat review, a Ritter Sport competition, and whatever I fancy posting on Friday :D If you guys have any suggestions as to what you want to see then please don't hesitate to get in contact. There are a number of sporting events happening this weekend - good luck to David Haye and Andy Murray (who could well be out by the time this appears!!).
Keep an eye on the Twitter feed - HERE ... you never know when a cheeky competition might appear :D
Have great weekends and remember to visit the NEWS PAGE which has been updated with the latest news on Thorntons closing down some of their stores. Make sure you join the debate.

SNACK OF THE WEEK ..... a new part of '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' which will feature any manner of snacking product I have been products munching on in the week
Kcal 149 Fat 5.0g Fat(sats) 3.0g Carbs 13.0g (per bar)Take a look at your supermarket shelves this week and you should find these new Kellogg's Rice Krispies Squares Totally Chocolatey Orange sitting there on some sort of launch deal (£1.00 for a four bar multipack in most retailers!). Yes for no apparent reason other than for giggles, Kellogg's have decided to make another limited edition flavour of their Rice Krispies Squares, these Totally Chocolatey Orange - 'crispy grains of chocolate toasted rice cereal and orange milk chocolate chunks with a chocolate flavour coating'.
I've been making my way through my four bar multi-pack this week and ultimately I'm giving them the thumbs up. On the face of things they looked no different whatsoever from the standard Totally Chocolatey flavour, however upon tasting the things it came to light that Kellogg's had done a nice job integrating the orange flavouring. It was real tasting, not too sweet and just about the right intensity, adding depth to what can sometimes seem like a rather mono-flavoured snack. If you like chocolate orange and Rice Krispies then you would be silly to let these pass by. They should make them part of the permanent range if you ask me!

oi oi a competition hey? What are the prizes going to be?
Good review Jim I like it when you keep it short and snappy. I get sometimes you are obliged to go into the minutia but generally I like your reviews better when you get to the point straight away.
God I hate chocolate orange. There was this one time I ate a whole Terrys one when I was small and I ended up being ill. Ever since then I haven't liked them or anything chocolate orange flavoured.
Fab reviews all week long and you finish with an all time secret love of mine. I could nom nom rice crispie squares all day long. They are dangerous when they are in my mitts. I share with no one :P
Rxxx
Loved all the reivews this week Jim but please can we have a multi post next week.
Im liking snack of the week Jim. I'm surprised kellogg's haven't bothered telling any one that this one was coming out. Is it in aid of anything this time or is it just a limited edition for the sake of it?
Well done again on the reviews this week, all of them top quality. You're blossoming in to quite the blogger J, it must be so wonderful knowing you bring such enjoyment to so many people.
Dx
Is the comp going to be for some more of those summer ones? please please please say you are giving away some of the mango yog ones. I so need to try that so badly and I haven't a chance unless you come up trumps for me.
Yummy the crispy cakes look nice. I will have to buy some of dem.
Hi Jim
Thanks for the posts this week bud. I found them as entertaining as ever mate.
Shame about ol muzza yesterday huh! It was such a shame he gave those two sets away so cheaply in the 2nd and 3rd. At least he took one set which was better than last yr.
Cheers
N
I do like rice crispy squares but I never feel like they cure my hunger. I often end up eating 2 if I eat one lol. I saw recently they launched small sized 'snack' ones. I think they got the wrong end of the stick, they should have made XL versions for us.
The rice krispie squares look interesting. If I can find a pack of them I will buy them for sure, thanks Jim.
I've just noticed you rated the chocolate orange rice krispie things better than the normal totally chocolatey ones. You are going to be disappointed when they go you better stock up mate lol.
My SNOTW are Reeses Pieces. I've had three bags already this week and have evil plans to buy some more today lol.
What did zotter say in response to your review? Were they angry at the poor score you gave them?
Its good to hear these are nice but it was hardly like they had to go major strides to make them better than the last limited edition ones they made.
Do you remember the comic relief ones! They were just the normal chocolate flavour but with red balls on the top. I wasn't impressed by them.
Omg this is so freaky. I was planning on making Rice crispy cakes with my little brother later.
You've inspired us to make them more than just chocolate flavoured ones now Jim. We might add some sort of fruit juice into the chocolate now whilst it's melting. A glacer cherry on top of each wouldn't go a miss either.
Didn't Andy Murray play well yesterday Jim! I told you he would make a good game of it. I feel sorry for him that he didn't win.
The best review this week was the Zotter one. It put a smile on my face thinking about you trying something so fowl lol.
Can we have a bits and bobs post next week pls?
You never know if these prove popular they might just become part of the permanent line up. I imagine it will all depend on how well they sell. Its not like they are going to stop producing something that is working out for them.
Have a lovely weekend Jim. I'm already looking forward to this competition you have lined up for us all. I hope it is more skill based than your normal format. You need to start rewarding the loyalists lol.
What did you make of all that fuss about Thorntons earlier in the week Jim? Did you know any one who got sacked because of it?
I think it's such a shame that one of our big brands are struggling. So many companies are in these times though aren't they. I hope they can pull through it.
They don't look any different do they. I wish they had just put some sort of orange icing or something on there just to show they are different from the originals.
The competition idea is a good one btw ;) whoever would have suggested you do one of them now lol.
Jim all the rice crispy bars are 2 for 1 in tesco at the moment. Nothing like a buy one get one free hey buddy.
its interesting and well judged analysis is reflecting in this writing about ice cream with yummy pictures.
ERIC - Ritter Sport prizes :D Makes a change huh!
NICK - Thanks for the feedback
GOLDEN - I believe it's just a new flavour. There's no attatchment to Comic Relief or anything this time.
ANDY - It's not the mango one I'm afraid.
NIGEL - He was unlucky to lose. Its a shame he didn't lose to the eventual champion wasn't it.
HENRY - No feedback from Zotter yet.
SALLY - How did your cakes turn out? I'm interested to hear whether my 'inspiration' worked out for the better.
ROBERT - I can't promise one next week I'm afraid. I've decided the reviews now. There's good stuff coming don't you worry though :D
KAREN - I will be posting my extended thoughts on the Thorntons thing in the news post next Saturday. I just want the whole situation to calm down a bit before I comment.
RYAN - Thanks for the info chap.
Thanks everyone - hope you had great weekends.
JIM
