Hi All,
Edition 88 of 7Days of Chocolate Reviews ... you might think I've been doing this too long eh!? I have enjoyed hearing from you all about the reviews this week, both the Cadbury and Lindt posts sparked a good deal of debate and discussion is still going back and forth on various issues. You can take a look at these reviews here:
Cadbury Mascots - See HERE
'Bits n Bobs' Cakes, Muffins & Biscuits - See HERE
Lindt Excellence Dark Caramel - See HERE
Here in the UK we have had a bit of a summer renaissance which makes my SOTW today looked even more of a nonsense then it is already posting about Christmas chocolates in September :D What can I say!? Before anyone gets too worried the Halloween reviews will be starting in the next few days so don't get the impression that I've skipped one holiday altogether - patience kids :D
I feel the need to run a competition for some chocolate :D ... who wants a Ritter Sport Milk & Wheatpuffs (See HERE)??? Well get yourself on twitter, follow @Chocmission and then Re-tweet one of my reviews with the hashtag #competition. I will randomly pick a few lucky winners next week.
FIND THE CHOCOLATEMISSION TWITTER FEED HERE
I hope that will keep you all out of mischief until next Monday :D Have great weekends.
JIM
SNACK OF THE WEEK ..... a new part of '7Days of Chocolate Reviews' which will feature any manner of snacking product I have been products munching on in the week

Aero Christmas Tree
Kcal 146 Fat 8.3g Carbs 16.2g
You guys didn't do anything to discourage me off the Christmas reviews last week so I'm back with yet another for you all (at least we can say it's October now haha :D ) Indeed today we have the Aero Christmas Tree - Yep, yet another new Aero product to join the likes of the Aero Orange, Aero Biscuit, Aero Easter Sheep etc which have already been sent out our way from Nestle this year.
This 25.0g single Christmas Tree shaped mould came in a snazzy looking foil packet, and looked similarly cool in reality with it's bright green coloured aerated centre. Anyone who has had Aero Mint before will not feel out of place with what you get here - essentially a sweet milky outer chocolate with a lovely melt in mouth textured peppermint chocolate centre. As with every Aero product you have to able to appreciate the sweeter, more sugary type of chocolate to enjoy this one. If you are well versed with Aero Mint however you will likely get a the same deal in terms of pleasure, but just in a smaller, less substantial Christmas themed manner. I'm sure the majority of you would have known the score with this one before reading this review - I think it's always nice to be reassured though, check it out mint chocolate fans.
8.2 out of 10

Brill reviews Jim. Even your shorter ones for bits and pieces and your snack of the week are incredibly detailed. You write so much better than other bloggers. I can never get why some people write so much detail in to their reviews sometimes. I get the fact that they care but for a reader its way too much effort to read a novel everyday lol. Keep doing what your doing.
I disagree that dark chocolate doesn't work with crunchy fillings and toppings. Have any of the people saying that ever had Hotel Chocolat Florentines? Those guys are the bomb, and they are dark chocolate with crispy peanuts and toffee. Lol they most definitely work.
Gr8 reviews this week jim. The swing from the non-serious bits and bobs cakes to the uber serious in depth lindt one was a good call. Its a good way to keep mixing it up fella.
Its early to review it but its not like any of us could miss it lol. All the christmas chocolates are taking over already.
I just rechecked the leaderboard and I still find it funny when I see you have Cadburys caramel rated higher than someone like Lindt. The quality of the ingrdients and the way in which they make it has to be so superior if you compare like for like. If you think about it seriously there should only be one winner if you are supposed to be pick one over the other. Jim's chocolate mission begs to differ it seems ;)
NOM NOM NOM AERO MINT = LUSH X X X
Hey J
Some big games this weekend. Here are my predictions
Pool vs Everscum 3-1
United vs Norwich 5-2
Spurs vs Arsescum 3-3
I hoping for a lot of goals this week lol. The highlights should be good if they come true :)
I thought your bits and bobs post this week was especially good btw. I hope you are ensuring this is a one a week bits and bobs site from now on. They will shut peoplelol.
Have a wicked weekend mate
N
Great photo of the christmas tree Jim. Its so clear your camera has to be awesome.
I dont like many cheap chocolates anymore but I have to say I have a real soft spot for minty aeros. The peppermint bit is so much better than you would expect, I prefer it to mint bars ive had from the likes of thorntons and everything.
Do we just have to Retweet you once or multiple times? Does it help us out if we do it loads?
Hey why didn't you tell us you updated the aero mint bubbles pictures. They are tons better than the ones you had previously nice work.
Your spoiling us readers with the competitions jim thanks ever so much.
I feel a touch less guilty about eating that mince pie last night now I see your reviewing Christmas chocolates =)
They got the colouring of the choc all wrong didn't they :D The tree needed to be the green bit and the stump the brown. That was so obvious it makes you wonder what dummy put this together.
Jim do you know the exact time that the wispa gold is supposed to come back?I hope its soon, im dieing for one.
Did your week get any better after your bad day Weds Jiim? I felt so sorry for you reading your twitter.
forget about football for one weekend @Nigel. Its all about the rugby this weekend man. The home nations all have a chance of qualifying its brill.
Snack of the week needs to stop being Christmas themed jim. Its not time yet. You are cursing us all boyo ;) you must know its really bad luck to celebrate christmas before time.
God I hadn't realised there were quite so many new aeros this year. lol it wasn't worth bringing out half of them imo. They could of at least tried something different that they didn't havein the range already. I dunno if these is just me being harsh but another aero mint rehash isn't exactly exciting.
Hey Jim i just saw this on the UK hot deals forum.
http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/Boxed_Chocolates/Cadbury_Roses_Tin_850g.html
Better than half price Roses tin - cracker jack deal
I ate three of these in a row yesterday lol. I felta lilttle sick by the end of the third one but still it hardly cost me much.
I couldn't pick a favourite review this week J. I thought all three were special in their own way. The cadburys one was good for moaning about the silly mascots, bits and bobs was just amaze with all the piccies and lastly the lindt one was entertaining even though I dont like dark chocolate. Just keep them coming please. You never said anything more about last week when you said things were going to have to change :( Please say you have reconsidered.
Jim ive been looking at the hotel chocolat halloween stuffs and have drawn up a list of ones I want reviewed.
Theres still ages to go so no rush if they take a few weeks.
The tree piccie looks so gorgeous. Yum Yum :) :) I want one right now.
Lovely-looking Nestle things, pity they don't have it over here.
Aero mint is so funny. I think aeros are such poor imitators of wispa bars but as soon as the mint bit gets put in there its a whole different story. It makes it soooo much better. Its why I always buy the aero mint over the wispa now.
I didn't get my say on those cadburys mascots on Monday. I just added my comment now jim. Will it be ok coming through yeh?
Its up to you but wouldn't you find it more satisfying rewarding your loyal readers rather than some random person on twitter? The last three people who won chocolates off you didn't bother writing on the rev once they got them. Its such a shame.
If I could win one chocolatemission ever it would be this one. I love their chocolates where they have the milk fillings. We just dont get anything like them here do we. The only chocolate with a milk filling I know of is the kinder maxi. For a chap as old as me its just too embarassing to buy.
Argh Jim please start making your competitions have an element of effort to them. Just giving chocs like that one away so easily is such a waste some right old muppets could end up winning it now.
Yay competition =) Thanks Jim
Thank you for the reviews this week Jim. Have a nice weekend.
Put this next on the xmas list jim - Lindt TeddyBears. I think they are new this year. I want to know if they have the lindor truffle bit in the middle. I hope they do, if they are just plain thats boring.
There is some big footie on this week Jim. You have any predictions? You never did tell me what you thought about all that Carlos Tevez stuff earlier in the week. I thought it was hilarious. The guy has no sense of reality it seems. Doofus.
Im not even going to bother entering this comp. You have so many followers the chances of winning have got to be so slim.
Anytime I see anything aero mint I just wish the wispa mint was still around. That bar cant comeback soon enough in my opinion.
Reading up on all the news articles none of the christmas chocolates sound very exciting this year. They all sound very very similar to what we had in 2010 apart from there is going to be less of them. Maybe all these brands havent got as much money to spend on things this year!?
Im making it a priority to get myself one of those boost cake bars this weekend. I saw all the halloween flavours yesterday but I didn't buy any of them because I was hoping I might be able to get some boost ones instead.
Hi All
Thanks again for the nice words about the reviews last week. You guys are why I keep plugging away to be sure I value your opinions.
I'm a little surprised to see such a negative response to the competition. The twitter ran competitions are just a bit of fun and its a device I use to get the JCM message out there. Sorry if you lot think that makes the competitions 'cheap' but its not like I charge entry or anything. Aren't they just a bonus?
GARETH - No idea about the Wispa Gold. Still awaiting official word.
ANON - Yes thanks my week did go a lot better.
RICHARD - Thanks for sharing that.
LRYLA - Request noted.
Thanks again for all the kind words on the reviews + photography.
JIM
Nice one. Even the fluorescent green coloring couldn't ruin it :)
