We are going to start our reviews this week giving you our thoughts on the Kit Kat Chunky Mint variant. Here in the UK the mint flavour has been widely available in the two-finger format that can be bought from most supermarkets. Those Mint Kit Kats have never been a favourite of the ChocolateMission crew (See HERE), though we were all keen to see how it translated to the Chunky format.
Opening the bar the first thing of note was that the bar lacked an upper creme layer which made it look a little bit more boring than some of the other Chunkys. Aesthetically it was a little lacking, however the minty smells fast made it a little more interesting. Biting in to the thick outer milk chocolate, the mint flavour was forthcoming from the outset and established a longing presence throughout the entire taste journey. As found with the standard two-finger bars the combination of the mint and milk chocolate was incredibly sweet but the more substantial wafer aided this from being quite as over bearing. The total 48.0g bar was verging on a being little overkill towards the end but it was agreed it was a superior experience than expected.
