March 25th: American Easter Treats 2013

Easter time is soon going to be upon us and if you fancy hearing what our friends over the pond in America are being treated to this year then you are in just the right place friends!!

The treats we are showing you today are from our pals @AmericanSoda - you can find everything we talk about in this post today over at their shop - these guys deliver throughout Europe.

Nestle Butterfinger Bunny
Kcal 720 Fat 26.0g Fat(sats) 18.0g Carbs 108.0g (per 155.9g package)

This was a product introduced by Nestle USA last year and it must have proven popular enough to justify a 2013 return. This Nestle Butterfinger Bunny comprises a very sizeable 155.9g milk chocolate bunny that has pieces of Nestle Butterfinger scattered throughout.

The bunny shaped mould was loved by everyone in the office. It was so cute looking infact that it took one our less sensitive employees to finally take the plunge break it into smaller pieces .... poor bunny eh!? :-) Tears weren't shed for long mind you. We were all soon grabbing fragmented pieces and very much enjoying the intermittent bursts of sweet peanut butter that greeted us everytime a crunchy piece was encountered. It being Nestle mass market product it obviously wasn't granduer chocolate though as always it did a job and delivered a sweet, milky chocolate flavour hit not to be frowned upon. Peanut butter fans will love this, though they might perhaps need some helping initially putting the beloved bunny out of it's misery - we would suggest obliging :-)

Hershey Kit Kat Bunny Ears
Kcal 220 Fat 12.0g Fat(sats) 8.0g Carbs 27.0g (per 4 fingers - 43.0g)

There isn't much write home about here in regards to this Kit Kat offering anything different from the norm taste wise, though when the recipe is such a tried and tested classic we understand there isn't always a requirement to tamper with a winning formula. What you do get here is a rather adorable looking bunny pattern etched into the four traditional Kit Kat fingers. 43.0g of milk chocolate and wafer goodness with a uber cute long eared 'Bunny-Wabbbbbbbit' design. Simple but effective. If you want to read our comparison of the American Hershey Kit Kats vs Nestle Kit Kats - See HERE.

Nestle Butterfinger Egg
Kcal 220 Fat 12.0g Fat(sats) 8.0g Carbs 27.0g (per 4 fingers - 43.0g)

Last but by no means least we have the Nestle Butterfinger Egg. This 34.0g delight is a smaller offering to the larger Nestle Butterfinger Bunny that we talked about above. The egg is a solid milk chocolate shape that has crunchy pieces of Butterfinger bar disperesed throughout. The complaint we often here about Reese's peanut butter products are they have 'too much sickly peanut butter in them'. Those looking for less of a rich peanut butter experience should show some attention here as this is exactly what the Nestle Butterfinger Egg offers - sweet, mass consumer-friendly milk chocolate with crunchy bits of sugary peanut butter brittle. There isn't anything not to love here.
