This year we think we have reviewed more *NEW* Cadbury products than ever before but we aren't complaining as the standard of the produce hasn't been bad at all - See Cadbury Dairy Milk Strawberries & Creme etc. Whilst many of these new launches have seen rise to new ranges such as the Cadbury Dairy Milk Creations (also See HERE), the latest product we received from the boys in purple is a line extension to one of their longest iconic characters - the Cadbury Freddo! According to the press release that accompanied our sample the launch of these Freddo Faces marks the 14th anniversary of the Cadbury Freddo first being introduced to the UK!\
Freddo is renowned for being a product targeted at kids and is marketed as an entry price point for the Cadbury range. These all new Cadbury Freddo Faces however buck the trend, and the 35.0g bags will be hitting shelves with an RRP of £0.52. The Cadbury Freddo Faces come billed as nothing more complicated as 'milk chocolates' as that is exactly what they are! Contained within a very snazzy looking purple foil packet you get approximately twelve pieces of Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, formed in 'happy', 'grumpy', 'cheeky', 'confused' and 'in love' Freddo faces (see if you can match them in our photo!!)
Do we even bother describing to how these tasted? 5 years of us describing Cadbury Dairy Milk you must know that we just use the adjectives - creamy, sweet, delicious, smooth flowing, viscous milk chocolate etc etc. Cadbury Freddo Faces deliver all of the aforementioned and with all the usual Cadbury charm. Whilst we enjoyed our packets of Cadbury Freddo Faces immensely we must say that we didn't find a single packet alone all that satisfying - we certainly wouldn't be swapping a packet of these for a normal Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bar.
Overall we were ultimately pretty satisfied with these Cadbury Freddo Faces and we expect them to prove rather popular when they make it to the UK shops in the coming weeks. They aren't innovation personified or anything rather new at all, but to expect anything different from Cadbury's plainer lines would have been unrealistic. If we have one gripe with these its with the chocolate/kg conversion which if you compare it to a normal bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk wont look favourable whatsoever. The latter will always be our preference, however for kids these are nice portion controlled offering.
