August 14th: Kellogg's Pop Tarts Gone Nutty Chocolate Peanut Butter

On Monday we brought you all our very positive review on the first of two new peanut butter focused varieties of Kellogg's Pop Tarts range. The Pop Tarts Gone Nutty Peanut Butter went down exceptionally with the ChocolateMission crew and we have already been making contact with Manchester Pickers begging them to send us some more :-) They have managed to secure exclusive stock here in the UK - check out their website HERE where you can order both of the new Pop Tarts Gone Nutty varieties.

Enough with the supplier plugs - on with our review of the Pop Tarts Gone Nutty Chocolate Peanut Butter ...

'Chocolate crust wrapped around filling made with real peanut butter and topped with frosting. It's the perfect combination for a perfect start to your day.'

After our positive experiences with the plainer Peanut Butter variety our expectations of this chocolate version rose even further and we simply couldn't wait to get our lips round them.

Expectations were of course sky-high and these were not dampened by the equally gorgeous smells generated by our toaster with the same nutty cookie scents offering a slightly more chocolatey centric set of aromas. As was the case Monday, the on-pack visuals were very accurate with the darker coloured pastry showcasing a very substantial portion of peanut butter inside.

With great delight we are pleased to report that these promising signs were not to be misleading for the taste test. The frosting placed on top of each pastry wasn't anything grander than your usual Pop Tarts sugar fest however the pastry thankfully generated a decent chocolatey flavour hit. As was the case Monday, the inner peanut butter filling was fantastic - sweet, salty and epically nutty and ultimately highly complimentary of the outer chocolate pastry in which it was placed within. Again the taste test team were highly satisfied by the two pastry portion but everyone of them said they could have eaten another.

Overall these Pop Tarts Gone Nutty Chocolate Peanut Butter were everything we wanted them to be. Further to Monday's recommendation of the Pop Tarts Gone Nutty Peanut Butter variety we confidently recommend these as an offering that also delivers an added dosage of chocolatey goodness to the equation. The fact these aren't going to be a core line of our UK Pop Tarts range is frankly a travesty - these are one of those products we could all see us buying very often as a special breakfast treat. They offer exactly what they promise - chocolate, peanut butter and pastry all in one! If you are a Pop Tarts and peanut butter fan you have to check out these new Pop Tarts Gone Nutty variants. If you don't you are doing yourselves a diservice. Make sure you try them before they are gone!!
