The Christmas season is fast coming upon us and that means only one thing for the confectionery market - Limited-Editions-a-go-go!!! Yes the Christmas holidays are always littered with Limited Edition offerings from all the good and great brands and Cadbury certainly aren't going to be bucking the trend this year. Thankfully our pals @MancPickers have us covered with all these Limited Editions. These guys have stocked up on all of the special bars released as of late and are now even shipping worldwide so no ChocolateMission readers need miss out on anything you see us reviewing over the next few weeks - MancPickers HERE.

Kicking off our Christmas ChocolateMission this year we chose to start off with this Limited Edition Cadbury offering - the Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland. This 100.0g bar comes described as a 'Tree shaped milk and white chocolate bar'. The packaging whilst highly reminiscent of the standard Dairy Milk bar, features some nice decorative touches with the familiar Cadbury branding enhanced with some special snowflake and Christmas tree designs. Unsealing the matted foil wrapper the usual plethora of Cadbury Dairy Milk scents let themselves known establishing expectations of the sweet chocolate that lay within.

Over the past couple of months we've seen Mondelez start to transfer several of the Milka bar designs into the Cadbury Dairy Milk range. To find a perfect example of this you need only look at the recent release of the Cadbury Dairy Milk with Daim bar - See HERE. Well this Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland borrows many of the properties of the Milka Happy Cows bar; combining both a tremendously aesthetically appealing bar design, with some lovely milk and white chocolate. The white chocolate, whilst not a favourite of ours due to it's sugary sweetness, did admittedly add to the overall experience due to it's unique look. As you can see from our photos the tree shaped chocolate blocks looked fantastic and gave the product a special festive appeal that we couldn't help but love. As the milk chocolate Dairy Milk still made up the main constituents of each block the taste was largely unaffected by the extra sugaryness brought to the party by the white chocolate. It was still the amazingly delicious creamy milk flavours that were the main feature of the taste - as ever with Dairy Milk satisfaction was guaranteed!

Overall whilst this Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland bar didn't offer us anything we perceived as new or groundbreaking, there was no getting away from the fact that this was still a very enjoyable chocolate bar. Here at ChocolateMission we do like trying different and new flavours but at the same time we are also ones to appreciate that sometimes the simple things can often prove to be the best way forward. The case for the latter is firmly backed up by what we experienced with this bar here. The Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland is nothing more complicated than a standard Dairy Milk chocolate bar decorated with some white chocolate tree-shaped decorative pieces but that is no bad thing in our opinion. Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate is for people with sweeter tastes but there is no doubt whatsoever that it has a delicious uniqueness that can't be imitated by any other. For that reason we can't give this anything other than a thumbs up and a ChocolateMission recommendation.
