It's a new year so that can only means one thing when it comes to our UK supermarkets!! Flog off the previously overpriced Christmas themed chocs and straight in with the Easter stock! It used to upset us a bit seeing all of the Easter goodies hitting the shelves as early as January but if we remember right we actually had reports of readers seeing them on shelf as early as December! We didn't come across this in 2013 (did any of you? - tell us @ChocMission) but just days in to January we got landed with one of Cadbury's new offerings.

Indeed I'm sure our pictures and post title have clued you up - new this year for 2014 we have these Cadbury Dairy Milk with Daim Mini Eggs! We got sent a few 86.0g packs and distributed them amongst the team. The initial reaction generally wasn't over excitement but as whole concept the team thought it made sense once again marrying the Dairy Milk and Daim brands. Speaking of brands the pack carried the new style Dairy Milk logo and more featured a far more prominent looking Daim emblem. We would love to hear your thoughts on the new Dairy Milk logo - be sure to drop us a line @ChocMission.

The review for these was always going to be straight forward as there wasn't a member of the ChocolateMission team who hadn't tried the original Cadbury Dairy Milk with Daim bar. The eggs were exactly the same shape and design as the Cadbury Dairy Milk with Caramel Mini Eggs however were completely solid with small bits of Daim contained inside. The transformation from bar to mini eggs went as expected - the full on almondy caramel effect of the Daim still had a good level of impact on the sweet, creamy thick Dairy Milk chocolate. Some of the team reported instances where the eggs were a little on the sparse side for the Daim, but by and large given they were given thumbs up for satisfying both Dairy Milk and Daim fans.

Overall whilst these wont be taking home any innovation 2014 awards the concept of these Cadbury Dairy Milk with Daim Mini Eggs works and we are glad they have been introduced to the Easter line up this year. It will surprise no one to hear that the fans of the original Cadbury Dairy Milk with Daim combination will feel very at home here - these offer no more or less than perhaps a more portable way to enjoy the combination rather than lugging round a 140.0g bar each time. After years of simply having the two options in the Creme and Caramel Mini Eggs it's nice to see Cadbury bring out a few more vareities just to extend consumer choice. Cadbury Dairy Milk with Daim Mini Eggs get a @ChocMission thumbs up!
