April 23rd: Lenny & Larry's Complete Cookie Range

American snacks aren't all about gluttony ya know!! That's what Lenny & Larry's would lead you to believe anyway:

"Lenny & Larry’s was founded by two friends with a passion for fitness, having fun and the first to truly bake with protein. Combining a fitness background with an interest in nutritional baked goods and promotional fun, we decided to create and market high protein muffins, cookies and other all natural baked goods"

We've actually featured them on the website before, reviewing their Lenny & Larry's Muscle Brownies back in July 2013 (See HERE). Well our friends over at @AmericanSoda got such a great a demand for the Larry & Lenny's Brownies they recently secured themselves some stock of the Lenny & Larry's Complete Cookie Range we are reviewing  for you today! Enjoy the photos - we certainly enjoyed the taste test :-)

The Complete Cookie range is described on the L&L websites as the ultimate "vegan, dairy-free and high-protein snack that is the perfect way to satisfy your inner Cookie Monster cravings". Each of the cookies come in single serve 113.0g formats and pack a minimum 16.0g of protein in each. The packaging is funky and modern looking and totally fitting of a brand with such an innovative product - so many of us in the team were desperate to try them that we actually had ourselves a mini taste testing Complete Cookie session - the only thing missing was the workout :-)

The range consists of five flavours and we got to try four of them. A commonality among them all were that they were similar texture wise with a dense, slightly moist crumbliness to all of the flavour varieties. They were also most a cross-bread of hard biscuit and soft yielding brownie, suffice to say they all had a nice mouth feel and left a satisfying feel after consumption.

The Oatmeal Raisin was first up! The taste was very reminiscent of a toasted, buttered cinnamon and raisin bagel with the spice leaving a lasting flavour note in the mouth. Some of the team who didn't care for cinnamon flavouring didn't care for the lack of mention in the name however the majority of us loved it's inclusion. Highly suitable as a breakfast option!

The Peanut Butter was the most anticipated of the four and surprisingly just fell a little short of being top dog once all flavours had been tried. The flavour note of sweet, salty peanut was there but it could have been stronger to really satisfy all peanut butter desires. Still highly thought of but not as good as ....

Either the Milk Chocolate or Double Chocolate variants. These both disappeared in seconds during our taste test. The Double Chocolate was ever so slightly the more chocolatey tasting of the two but ultimately this meant it was a touch sweeter so not everyone on the panel was convinced it was superior the plainer Milk Chocolate. These cookies both satisfied hunger pangs and delivered a chocolate flavour hit leaving us all happy as Larry .... die whoever wrote that pun!

Overall the ChocolateMission team are happy to stamp a big seal of approval across this Lenny & Larry's Complete Cookie range and highly advocate any of the flavour should they appeal to you. No doubt there are probably healthier foods to be consuming if fitness is your thing but if it is a line up of protein rich cookies you are after Lenny & Larry's fit the bill! Have you guys tried them yet? Please share your thoughts on them with us over @ChocMission and @AmericanSoda.
