After we posted are not so positive review of the Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Milk Chocolate Caramel we were shortly after hit up on Twitter by Bahlsen themselves. To get to the short of the long they basically said to us why don't you try out our new 'White' flavour and that they were confident we would like them a whole lot more. Well we actually declined there offer as we wanted to maintain our impartiality! We went out and found them ourselves.

We found them on sale in Sainsbury's where they were priced at £1.50 for 125.0g. These days you really have to be pushing it to be paying more than £1.00 for a pack of biscuits, suffice to say we weren't overly bothered forking out the extra 50p :) The packaging and presentation looked pretty good. We liked the look of the biscuits with the white chocolate looking very milky and pale in colour on the box. They looked this way in-hand too - the contrast of the lighter and darker coloured chocolates did look very cool.

As you might of guessed we sampled these on one of the many @ChocMission tea breaks - both dipping them in coffees to do the dunk test and leaving them as a standalone dry biscuit (we had all bases covered don't worry!). You may recall we tried some very similar biscuits recently in the form of the McVitie's Deli Choc White Chocolate Biscuits. Thought they were slightly different with a plain bottom biscuit these were instantly contrastable and frankly way apart in quality with these Choco Leibniz White were by far our favoured biscuit. The white chocolate was subtle in flavour with a not too sweet, milky vanilla noted taste. The bottom cocoa flavoured biscuit provided the chocolate hit - similarly not too intense but nicely balanced with the white chocolate coating. These got thumbs up all round from the team.

Overall these are probably the best Bahlsen biscuits we have tried and were definitely far superior to the poor milk chocolate caramel biscuits of their's we tried a month or so ago. Suffice to say the pack we bought for the office didn't see the end of the day. They were opened at 11am and only managed to make it until 3pm before one of the greedy @ChocMission team finished the last ones. If you are scared by the prospect of an overly sweet biscuit with the white chocolate you really needn't be. These subtly flavoured and all the better for it! Worth going out your way to try.
