Who here in the UK doesn't love a good McVitie's Jaffa Cake. The debate whether they are cakes or biscuits will long wage on, though one thing that is totally undisputed is that they are much beloved across the world. When it comes to the original McVitie's Jaffa Cakes we don't generally seem to see that many new flavours or limited editions, only during the holiday season. Their Cake Bars Jaffa Cakes though they are a little more adventurous and their latest creation are these McVitie's Jaffa Cakes Double Chocolate Cake Bars which we tried today.
We found these on sale in our local Tesco on a £1.00 promotional deal. This bought us a pack of 5 cake bars that we split amongst the team during an afternoon coffee. The wrappers looked relatively differentiated from the main Jaffa Cakes brand. It carried the recognisable Jaffa Cakes branding but lacked the usual blue colouring apart from on the logo.
Overall the team here really liked these McVitie's Jaffa Cakes Double Chocolate Cake Bars. As we described above we were thinking originally that we were going to get twice the volume of chocolate on the outside and not just milk chocolate sponge instead of the original. We obviously just presumed wrong and it really wasn't a big deal to us once the taste test was under way. If your are a McVitie's Jaffa Cakes fan you should give these Double Chocolate Cake Bars a try - let us know what you think of them @ChocMission.
