After reviewing the Galaxy Duet Cookies and Cream last week we of course had to follow up quick smart with the other new Galaxy bar the Galaxy Duet Caramel & Shortcake. Out of the two this was the one we looked forward to trying the most. You only have to take a look at the @ChocMission leaderboard to understand why 😁 The Galaxy Caramel is one of of our all time most loved bars.

Like the other Galaxy Duet last week we found this in a local newsagent on sale for £0.50. We always have a few mixed opinions among the team about Galaxy wrappers. Half of us are in the camp that they look too similar whilst the other half think they look really cool. Regardless the bar itself looked wonderful when we broke it apart - just look at the caramel ooze!

On the wrapper the bar came described as 'milk chocolate with caramel and chocolate shortcake filled centres'. As ever the Galaxy chocolate was very much to our liking. Creamy, sinfully sweet but with that gorgeous thick texture that leaves a longing chocolatey taste in the mouth. The centres were also nice but best consumed separately. The caramel was so dominant over the biscuit both in flavour and texture the buscuit didn't come through as much as it did with the cookies and cream bar where the vanilla centre was much lighter. The caramel was buttery, delicious and chewy - totally moreish but still satisfying in its 35.0g size.

Overall despite the team really enjoying this Galaxy Duet Caramel & Shortcake we would of had a very hard time recommending it over just a normal Galaxy Caramel bar. In this particular format the shortcake filling section almost comes across as useless as the caramel portion of the bar is far overpowering. If you see it on offer in any of your local shops it's definitely worth a try if you just fancy trying something new during this time of new chocolate bar drought here in the UK. Give it a try and let us know what you think over @ChocMission.
