Believe this or not we still have three flavours of this new Booja Booja Chilled Chocolate Truffles range to bring you! Yes after trying their initial selection pack and then their dark chocolate with raspberry flavour (see HERE), we thought we would next check out probably their most adventurous flavour in the new range their Booja Booja Rhubarb & Vanilla Fool Truffles. Here @ChocMission we do love a good rhubarb crumble and custard but we hadn't had many chocolates before where this cult British fruit had been utilised.

As with all these Booja Booja Chilled Chocolate Truffles they came in a pack weighing 69.0g containing 6 truffles inside. We don't know if the lighting on our pack shot has done it justice but the packaging was an odd greenish colour that frankly probably wasn't the best choice they could have probably gone for. That said the box still looked cute and inner plastic tray kept the chocolate looking in a-spec condition which was obviously to our liking.

We mentioned on our previous reviews the sheer delight that is the melting texture of these truffles. The outer cocoa powder really is a magic touch and here it created the same lovely cool melting feel when the truffles were placed in our mouths. Unfortunately the smooth, fluid truffle melt wasn't quite so luxurious here, with the chewy rhubarb inside giving it an odd stringy mouth feel. The texture wasn't quite as nice and frankly the taste was also a little disappointing. Despite the fruit being very evident in the texture it failed to create an impression on the taste and the vanilla was seemingly all but absent. Again these were at least satisfying in single portions for those requiring a chocolate hit.

Overall we were for the first time left a little disappointed by this new Booja Booja range. These Booja Booja Rhubarb & Vanilla Fool Truffles just didn't do it for us and failed to deliver the rhubarb fruit flavour to a satisfying degree. We will admit that at the heart of these you still do have a good standard dark chocolate truffle, however when you've been promised something more it's hard not to feel a little let down by them. It's probably worth checking out some of the other flavours in the range before this one.
