At the beginning of the year we discovered our new snacking buddy, Joe & Seph, who produce gourmet popcorn. After a refreshing BelgianMilk Chocolate and Mint we are now moving onto a more indulgent Belgian White Belgian Chocolate infused with Madagascan Vanilla Bean.
The stylish packaging is both fun and practical; it’s re-sealable foil pouch means that you can keep the popcorn fresh after opening, but also seals in all the beautiful aromas coming from the vanilla. It gives off a strong creamy sweetness with a hint of caramel.
The recommended serving size is a bit odd as it states 20g, when the pouch is 32g. So a pouch contains one and a half servings? In terms of feeling full, there are definitely two servings, but they are so moreish that you will find it hard to stop until there’s none left. I think the reason for the serving suggestion is because the pouches are available in different sizes, so if you buy an 80g or 120g pouch, then you will end up with full serving sizes.
The popcorn provides a moment’s crunch, but then hedonistically melts into a velvety light morsel. The white chocolate is pleasingly subtle because it is not too sweet. This allows the robust vanilla to dominate. As someone who generally prefers savoury popcorn, this combination has turned me into a convert.
